The Talbot at Knightwick

The Talbot Journal… December!

DECEMBER EVENTS – 22 December 2017

Well, this December has certainly been eventful so far here at the Talbot in Knightwick.

The month started off with our monthly Teme Valley Market having to be cancelled, and moved to the week after due to thick snow. Those intrepid few that made it to the Talbot for the Market on its designated date of 10 December 2017 were certainly brave, and were rewarded with a warm fire, and snow-frosted champagne for their troubles.

However, snow that was around 4-6 inches wasn’t going to stop the Talbot, and we remained open for those that went and enjoyed time with their children sledging and building snowmen, with an open fire and warm food for them to savour.

The following week, 17 December, the second attempt at the Market was made, and this time, it was able to go off without a hitch, due to the snow having melted away, and allowed it to continue unabated. We had a great turn out, and many people benefited from local produce and artisan products for last minute Christmas presents!

Resident staff of the Talbot had great fun during the snow, and built themselves an igloo in the wrapped up Talbot kitchen garden, an immense feat of snow-engineering that stood for many days unaffected by the thaw.

Christmas is now starting to creep up on us, and Festive menus have been popular in the lead up to the big day. Christmas Day was fully booked from the middle of November, a record for the Talbot, and we hope that staff and customers alike will have a very festive and happy time of year, as they celebrate together in our Conservatory.

Boxing day sees the return of the Morris Men, whom will be performing from 12:30; there is no Hunt Meet here with ourselves this Boxing Day. As we approach the New Year, there will be the annual Talbot New Year’s Eve party; a disco from 20:00, and food served until 21:00 will get you all in the mood. A few rooms are still available for those that would like to start their New Year right with award winning breakfast! What better way is there?

Finally, all that is left to say is we wish ALL our customers, clients, residents, regulars, staff, and visitors a VERY Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!
