The Bar

Bar food is served 08:00 to 21:00 daily

In marked contrast to the tranquil atmosphere in the dining room, lies the lively activity of the Lounge Bar, where home-produced ales are appreciated by locals and visitors alike whilst exchanging fishing tales, or warming cold toes by the huge open fire.

The Bar Areas

Depending on your mood, we have a selection of areas where you can enjoy your drink, and possible meal, here at The Talbot.

For those wishing to be in the hustle-and-bustle of the pub, this area is sandwiched in the middle, and sports two large fire places to warm up, as well as access to the restaurant areas, and also to the accommodation rooms, if you are staying with us.

Furnished in grouped tables, and with a long bar, you may well recognise some of the seating as the work of Jonathan Clift, a Blacksmith who also features in our Teme Valley Market, and is a relation of Annie's.

This area also holds the menu boards for the day, which are altered on a daily basis to keep abreast of what is seasonal, and fresh.

Also known as the 'Back Bar', this is where those who seek a traditional pub atmosphere return to, again and again. Housing a pool table, and a jukebox, this area also showcases the age of the building, with a glass partition into one of the walls, showing the 'wattle-and-daub' original wall materials The Talbot would have been made of when it was first built.

The Food

We offer a varied restaurant menu from 12.00 - 21.00, alongside our more relaxed bar menu and, of course, our award-winning breakfast menu from 08:00 - 12:00.

On a Sunday, we offer a selection of traditional roast lunches.

Distinctive and delicious food, made from locally produced ingredients is a central tenet of The Talbot. Traditional, and sometimes ancient, recipes are re-worked with a modern and original flair and a real emphasis on wholesome flavour.

The Beers

Pair the above with our home-produced beers and lager, from the onsite Teme Valley Brewery; we think we have a fine selection of beverages to accompany your meal, wherever you may choose to seat yourself.

Below is an outline of the standard beers you'll see on our handpulls when you come to The Talbot:

ThisĀ (3.7%) has all the easy drinking virtues of a light ale, with a vivid hop aroma. Challenger and Goldings hops, with a hint of chocolate malt, make a memorable session beer.

That (4.1%) is a chestnut coloured best bitter, with a robust malt flavour, balanced by powerful hops. We use crystal malt, chocolate malt, and Challenger and Sovereign hops. One for real ale connoisseurs.

T'other (3.5%) is a pale beer, brewed using Challenger and Goldings hops, to give a delicate aroma and a gentle bitterness. Amber malt contributes a light biscuit flavour. The low ABV makes it perfect for lazy lunches, or if you are the designated driver.

The Teme Valley Brewery also provides us with a few special occasion beers that come and go on our individual hand pump:

The Talbot Blonde (4.4%) is a smooth, rich golden beer, well hopped with Worcestershire Pilgrim and Minstrel. First introduced as a seasonal beer, but now available all year round.

Wotever Next (5.0%) is a strong, dark, and bitter beer. The distinctive dry finish derives from chocolate malt, Pilgrim and Cascade hops. A long fermentation leaves little sweetness behind.

The Lagers and Ciders

There is also a fantastic lager now produced by the Teme Valley Brewery which is also stocked on our bar:

Cosmos (4.5%) is currently still in testing phase, and is their first foray at a British style lager. Its hopped with Worcestershire Archer hops. Currently only available here at The Talbot!

Other old favourites such as Guinness and Carling also feature on our bar, as well as a selection of ciders, including Appleshed Dark Fruits, Oldfields Worcestershire Cider, and Robinson's Flagon.

We serve food 08:00 - 21:00 daily, including our award-winning breakfasts for non-residents.
